Bell Tower

Most of the Andalusian minaret, built by ‘Abd al-Rahman III, has been preserved inside the present tower and remained unchanged until the Renaissance, when the bell tower was added.

Subsequently, stability problems forced the Arab minaret to be sheathed in a more robust construction in the mid-17th century. In 1664, the tower was crowned with the image of San Rafael.
