St Raphael's triumph

The statue of Saint Raphael is placed on the capital of a votive column in many places in the city. These representations, known as triumphs, are commemorative of the promise to safeguard the city that the people of Cordoba attribute to the archangel. The most notable is the one located next to the Puerta del Puente (Bridge Gate), made in the 18th century and completed by Michel de Verdiguier.
